有点复杂。Calmar是Diamond International的一个事业部,1983年6月22日正式IPO。但是Diamond international在1982年已经被恶意收购(hostile takeover)了。收购人是一个经济学人家，Sir James Goldsmith。这人随后卖掉了大部门Diamond International的资产，只留了timberland。(我估计Calmar就是在这种情形下spin off的，但这时Diamond international已经不是上市公司了。)

找不到他是被spin off，或者其它新闻。CRSP linktable应该都不对，那些都是不同于Avery Inc.只是名称雷同的公司。

Richardson_Merrell存在很久了，先是与Dow的一个子公司merge，等把OTC(非处方药，和金融术语没关系)一些部门转以后，剩下的Richardson_Merrell就被spin off了。
我觉得比较合理的Ultimate母公司，应该是Dow，Permno 20626。
子公司，后来名称不能算是Richardson-Merrell,而应该是Richardson-Vicks。
Q：这样的parent Permno到底怎么算？？？如果算Richardson-Merrell Inc是母公司，spinoff之后，就没有母公司了？
